A mix of ballet, yoga and Pilates you say? Hey, this Resort Girl has to find out more on this new way of developing lean muscle mass called a barre workout class. It’s all the rage in Hollywood (so they say) for lifting and toning – things that are a must at any age. And as a childhood ballerina, having a ballet barre as part of my workout will bring back precious memories.
Doing a bit of RG research on the barre workout, it appears to not only lift your seat, but raises your spirits, increases your flexibility, makes your muscles lean and tones to the core. Fitness Magazine published a great guide for the barre beginner.
I heard about the barre workout from our RG event planner. She suggested a fun evening class, beginning with delicious and nutritious “mocktails” as our first RG event, holding it at two RGs, Jennifer Wolfe and Megan Harris’, exercise studio, True Fit Pilates and Training Center, in Bluffton, SC. What a great way to wind down after a long week and learn a new lean workout from fellow RGs. True Fit Pilates describes their barre class workout as “a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs and burns fat in record-breaking time.
